Indispensable! If you are approaching the Homeric texts in Greek, you need two texts to get you started Seymour and Benner. Benner is excellent as a stand alone, but Seymour is also cheap and a great companion text. You may also want a lexicon but Benner's lexicon is pretty sufficient for the texts within Benner (and Perseus has Slater, if you really want something more).
Yes, this is a reprint, and yes, the book is more than 130 years old. Still, it's awesome readable, timeless, simple, comprehensive, SHORT (only about a hundred pages). Don't dive into Homer without this one.
(An alternative to Benner that I think you might like would be the Steadman editions of the Odyssey. It's a different approach with less introduction and context and more 'in text' resources, but it's also effective.)
